Ooi Say Kow
18 June 2004

26 July 2004

18 August 2004

PAM received cc letter from Mr Ooi to the Architect asking for a true certified copy of Professional Certificate(s) to their banker - Standard Chartered Bank Bhd, as the previous Professional Certificate(s) was not clear.

Submit comments pertaining to the discrepancies on plans done by the professional architect for PAM's investigation and appropriate action.

He regrets PAM has neglected his letters dated 18 June 2004 and 26 July 2004. He said the complaint has nothing to do with the contract and legal matters.

As the matter is before the Court, it would be subjudisive to deliberate on this matter. After the Court has ruled on it and if you still want to pursue the matter, you may refer to LAM (Board of Architects) which is the statutory body responsible for regulating the practice of architecture in Malaysia.

M.Punitha
(Perak Consumer's Association)

Received cc letter from M. Punitha, representative for Perak Consumer's Association to Mayor of Dewan Bandaraya Greentown dated 20 May 2004, which refer to "Cadangan 169 Unit Rumah Teres 2-Tingkat (PT.50413-50437, PT-50481, PT50520-50615 & PT50618-50640), followed by a reminder letter dated 24 August 2004 that PAM has failed or refused or neglected to endeavour to find or seek or to resolve the complaints channelled from the Public through them. Therefore, they seek an early action from PAM.

She received a complaint from Chai Kok Foong that the housing project that has been approved by the Mayor of Dewan Bandaraya Greentown had some defects such as:
- Wooden beams, cross beams and roof rafters that were used as roof extension may be from the used woods, as extended with steel.
- The extension was not completed.

Our record shows that we have received no letter from you addressed to us dated 30 June 2004.

PAM is an Institute of Architects, whereas the statutory body, which is responsible for regulating the practice of architecture, is LAM (Board of Architects). If you are unhappy with the conduct of the Architect, you may forward your complaint directly to LAM.
