1. MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS

i) New Applications ( Appendix A)

ii) Defaulters 2002 & 2003

Members who have not paid their subscription for 2003 & 2004 ( Appendix B ) will be issued a final notice by registered post, requesting them to pay their arrears in subscription within four (4) weeks upon forwarding of such notice.

If the members still do not settle their arrears within the stipulated period, their names will be removed from the PAM Register of Members.

iii) Reinstatement

2. ACTIVITIES 2003 - 2004

i) PAM Charity Golf 2004

YB Dato' Seri Ong Ka Ting, Minister of Housing and Local Government has accepted PAM's invitation to be the Guest-of-Honour for the PAM Charity Golf 2004, which will be held on Thursday 29 July 2004.

YB Dato' Seri will coming at 7.00 pm however, not mention to stay longer for the Dinner and Prize Prize Presentation Ceremony. PAM Secretariat will follow-up with YB Dato' Seri's PA.

ii) Building Industry Dinner 2004

The Building Industry Dinner 2004 will be held on Friday 25 June 2004 at the
Berjaya Times Square Hotel & Convention Center, Kuala Lumpur.

YB Dato' Mohamad Zin bin Mohd, Deputy Minister of Works has been invited to be the Guest-of-Honour for this year's Building Industry Dinner.

ACTION: For Council's information. Secretariat to follow up.


iii) PAM Family Weekend

The PAM Southern Chapter has sent in their tentative programme ( Appendix C ) for the weekend. A meeting will be arranged with the sponsors on the quantum of sponsorship required.

iv) PAM Annual Dinner 2004

The PAM Annual Dinner 2004 will be held on Saturday 11 September 2004 at the
Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur.

YAB Dato' Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, the Prime Minister has been invited to be the Guest-of-Honour for this year's Building Industry Dinner.

ACTION: For Council's information. Secretariat to follow up.

v) Triangular Golf Tournament 2004

IEM and ISM have yet to respond on the proposed objectives of this tournament.

3. COMPETITION & AWARDS

i) PAM 2004 Awards

A total of 129 nominations were received for this year's Awards.

PAM Secretariat will write to the Architects of the nominated buildings, requesting them
to submit their building for the PAM 2004 Awards. The Closing date for submissions is
30 June 2004.

The Awards Steering Committee has also decided to include an Overseas Projects category and nominations for this category will close on 10 June 2004.

ACTION: For Council's information. Secretariat to follow up.

ii) PAM Award for Colour on Buildings

This Award will be presented during the Building Industry Dinner on 25 June 2004.

Some members have complained that they received the Awards flyer late and they need more time to submit for the Award. The closing date has now been extended to 7 June 2004, to give members more time to submit for the Awards.

iii) PAM Gold Medal Award

The Committee has received a letter from Ar. Azim Tan Sri Aziz, seconded by Ar. Hud Abu Bakar, nominating Dato' Ar. Hj Baharuddin b. Abu Kassim for the PAM Gold Medal Award.

PAM Council is to set-up a Panel of Accessors, consisting the President, a Past President and a Past Recipient to look into the criteria for selection of the PAM Gold Medal Award recipient

4. YOUTH & SPORT MATTERS

i) Field Visit

84 members attended the visit to Sg. Buloh hospital on 24th April 2004.

The next visit will be to Gita Bayu on 19th June 2004.

ACTION: For Council's information. Secretariat to follow up.

ii) Overseas Visit

The committee has confirmed Singapore as the overseas visit.
The proposed date for the visit is August 2004.

ACTION: For Council's information. Secretariat to follow up.

iii) Discourse Workshop

The Chairman has been informed that this event can be arranged with the Education Committee on the Student Workshop.
