1. MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS
i) New Applications

ii) Termination of Corporate Membership
i) Ar. Maznah bt Mohd Salleh (M 1401) would like to discontinue
her membership
w.e.f. 31 December 2002.
ii) Ar. Ch'ng Kong Chan (M 381) wishes to terminate his
membership w.e.f.
31 December 2003 due to unavoidable circumstances.
iii) Ar. Daniel Teo Tong How (M 292) wishes to terminate
his membership with immediate effect.
iii) Termination of Graduate Membership
i) Chiang Fook Hoong (G 1814) has written to PAM to discontinue
his membership
w.e.f. January 2004 as he is currently located in Australia.
ii) Eow Shee Huei (G 1153) wishes to resign as a member
with immediate effect.
iv) Student Membership of PAM
The committee discussed with concern on the large number
of Architecture Students
who have yet to register as students members with PAM.
The committee proposes to promote the PAM Student membership
to the students pacticipating at the next Architectural
Students Workshop which will he held at Universiti Putra
Malaysia.
2. ACTIVITIES 2003 - 2004
i) PAM Charity Golf 2004
The format for this year's PAM Charity Golf will be similar
to the previous years, where the proceeds were donated to
needy causes.
For this year, the committee has proposed that the proceeds
be donated to 3 needy organisations related to health.
The proposed organisations are as follows:
i) Majlis Kanser National (MAKNA)
ii) National Kidney Foundation
iii) Yayasan Kebajikan SSL Haemodialysis
iv) The Heart Foundation of Malaysia
The date for this year's PAM Charity Golf has been rescheduled
to Thursday 22 July 2004. The proposed venues are as follows:
- Kelab Golf Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah
- Glenmarie Golf & Country Club
- IOI Palm Garden Golf Club
YB Dato' Seri Ong Ka Ting, Minister of Housing and Local
Government has been invited as the Guest-of-Honour for this
year's PAM Golf.
ii) PAM Family Weekend
The PAM Southern Chapter has informed that they do not
have the budget to organise
the entertainment and has requested the Membership Committee
to look into this matter.
An IT exhibition/Workshop will be held during the weekend.
iii) Building Industry Dinner 2004
The Building Industry Dinner 2004 will be held on Friday
25 June 2004 at the
Berjaya Times Square Hotel & Convention Center, Kuala
Lumpur.
The Guest-of-Honour for this year's Dinner were proposed
in the following order:
i) Minister of International Trade and Industry
ii) Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government
iii) Deputy Minister of Works
iv) PAM Annual Dinner 2004
The PAM Annual Dinner 2004 will be held on Saturday 11
September 2004 at the Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur.
The committee proposes to invite YAB Dato' Seri Abdullah
Ahmad Badawi, the
Prime Minister as the Guest-of-Honour for this year's Dinner.
v) Triangular Golf Tournament 2004
IEM and ISM have yet to respond on the proposed objectives
of this tournament.
3. COMPETITION & AWARDS
i) PAM Architecture Award 2004
This Award will be presented during PAM Annual Dinner 2004
on 11 September 2004.
To-date only 20 nominations have been received. An email
reminder has been sent to members, reminding them to nominate
buildings for this year's Award.
The closing date for nominations is 30 April 2004.
ii) PAM Award for Colour on Buildings
This Award will be presented during the Building Industry
Dinner on 25 June 2004.
The following companies have agreed to co-sponsor this year's
Awards. The amount
of sponsorship is RM4,000 per sponsor:
i) Boustead Sissons Paints Sdn Bhd
ii) Globe Leigh's Paints (M) Sdn Bhd
iii) ICI Paints (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd
iv) Jotun (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd
v) Sime Coatings Sdn Bhd
The Award flyers will be sent to members by end April 2004
and the closing date
for submissions is 25 May 2004.
4. YOUTH & SPORT MATTERS
i) Field Visit
The visit to Hospital Sg. Buloh has been confirmed for
Saturday 24 April 2004.
To-date more than 100 members have registered for the visit.
The committee proposed that in future, the members be asked
to pay-up when registering so that there will not be many
absentees on the day of the visit.
The next proposed visit will be to Gita Bayu. The date for
the visit will be confirmed
In due course.
ii) Overseas Visit
The committee has proposed Shanghai or Singapore for the
overseas visit.
PAM will contact the Sabah Chapter, who have organised a
delegation to China in
April 2004 for more details on this proposed visit.
iii) Discourse Workshop
The Chairman has been informed that this event can be arranged
with the Education Committee on the Student Workshop.
iv) Inter Firm Friendly Games
The committee have decided that Bowling will be the choice
for the Inter Firm
Friendly Games Day.
The proposed date is Sunday, 30 May 2004, in the afternoon.
