2. ACTIVITIES 2003 - 2004

i) PAM Members' Night 2004 - The 70's Night

The PAM Members' Night 2004 was held on Friday 27 February 2004 at Hotel Istana, Jalan Raja Chulan, Kuala Lumpur.

This year's PAM Members' Night was co-sponsored by Boustead Sissons Paints Sdn Bhd and Panmart Development Sdn Bhd

A total of 130 PAM Members' and Guests attended the gathering.

ACTION: For Council's information.

ii) PAM Golf 2004

The committee was informed that the 3 sponsors for the golf competition,
Assa Abloy Malaysia Sdn Bhd, ICI Paints (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and Johnson Suisse (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd have agreed to contribute a sum of RM18,000.00 each (RM15,000.00 in cash for the organising cost for the competition & RM3,000.00
in kind for upgrading the facilities at the PAM Centre).

The date for this year PAM Golf has been fixed for Thursday10 June 2004.
The 3 proposed venues are as follows:

- Kelab Golf Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah
- Palm Garden Golf Club
- Glenmarie Golf & Country Club

The committee proposes to invite the Minister of Housing and Local Government or his deputy to be the Guest-of-Honour for this year's PAM Golf.

iii) PAM Family Weekend

A proposal of schedule was sent to the PAM Southern Chapter for their comments and suggestions. The sub-committee will arrange for a meeting with the Southern Chapter to discuss on the preparations for this event.

iv) Building Industry Dinner 2004

The Building Industry Dinner 2004 will be held on Fridfay 25 June 2004 at the
Berjaya Times Square Hotel & Convention Center, Kuala Lumpur.

The Organising Committee's Chairman, Ar Lim Pay Chye will confirm on the Guest-of-Honour for the dinner by April 2004.

v) PAM Annual Dinner 2004

The PAM Annual Dinner 2004 will be held on Saturday 11 September 2004 at the Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur.

vi) Triangular Golf Tournament 2004

A meeting was held on Wednesday 25 February 2004 with the representatives from IEM and ISM to discuss the objectives of this tournament.

Attached is the organising committee's report.

3. COMPETITION & AWARDS

i) PAM Architecture Award 2004

This Award will be presented during PAM Annual Dinner 2004 on 11 September 2004.

Ar. Ang Chee Cheong has accepted PAM's request to be the conveynor for this year's Awards. The circular to members calling for nominations of buildings for this year's Awards will be sent in early April.

ii) PAM Award for Colour on Buildings

This Award will be presented during the Building Industry Dinner on 25 June 2004.

A meeting was held on 17 March 2004, attended by representatives from 3 paint companies (Jotun Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Globe Leigh Paints Sdn Bhd and Boustead Sissons Paints Sdn Bhd) to seek their approval on whether they are willing to co-sponsors this year's Award.

The 3 representatives have agreed in principal to sponsor the Award up to an amount of RM5,000 per sponsor. Reply is being awaited from ICI Paints (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Sime Coatings Sdn Bhd and KCC Paints Sdn Bhd for their approval to co-sponsor this Award.

4. YOUTH & SPORT MATTERS

i) Field Visit

The visit to Hospital Sg. Buloh has been confirmed for Saturday 24 April 2004.
The circular to members for this visit will be sent together with the Berita Akitek.

ii) Overseas Visit

The committee have yet to finalise on the overseas visit programme and schedule.

ACTION: For Council's information. Secretariat to follow up.

iii) Discourse Workshop

The Chairman has been informed that this event can be arranged with the Education Committee on the Student Workshop.

ACTION: For Council's information. Secretariat to follow up.

iv) Inter Firm Friendly Games

The committee have decided that Bowling will be the choice for the Inter Firm Friendly Game.
