1. MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS

i) New Applications

The Chairman has asked the committee on how to get more students to joint PAM as Student Member, since the numbers is very little. The Committee proposed that some leaflet and sent to the Head of Six (6) School of Architecture with regards to the PAM Student Membership status and its benefits.

ACTION: For Council's approval. Secretariat to follow up.

ii) Reinstatement of PAM Membership

Ar Ng Lup Chee (M 1005) had reinstated his Corporate membership from 2000 to 2004.
ACTION: For Council's approval. Secretariat to follow up.

iii) Outstanding Annual Subscription

The Chairman has expressed his concern with the numbers of members yet to pay the annual subscription 2003 / 2002 as per the attached list.

- List of Corporate Members for Outstanding of Annual Subscription 2002 (Appendix B)
ACTION: For Council's approval. Secretariat to follow up.

iv) Termination of Corporate Membership

i. Ar Maznah bt Mohd Salleh (M 1401) would like to discontinue her membership with effect from 31 Dec 2002.
ii. Ar Ch'ng Kong Chan (M 381) also wishes to terminate his membership due to unavoidable circumstances.
ACTION: For Council's information. Secretariat to follow up.

v) Termination of Graduate Membership

Mr Chiang Fook Hoong (G 1814) has written to PAM to discontinue his membership effective January 2004 as he now currently located in Australia.
ACTION: For Council's information. Secretariat to follow up.

2. ACTIVITIES 2003 - 2004

i) PAM Members' Night 2004 - The 70's Night

The PAM Members' Night 2004 will be held on 27 February 2004 (Friday) at Hotel Istana, Jalan Raja Chulan, Kuala Lumpur.

Boustead Sissons Paints Sdn Bhd and Panmart Development Sdn Bhd had agreed to co-sponsor the PAM Members' Night at the amount of RM6,000.00 per as sponsor.

76 members have confirmed their attendance to the PAM Members' Night 2004.
i. 12 from PAM Council Members
ii. 26 from New Corporate Members
iii. 12 from the guests list @ RM60.00 per person

The Committee also has proposed that to recognise those non-recognised Graduate Architect which has obtained the Part I & II Examination by giving them letter of acknowledgement.

ACTION: For Council's information. Secretariat to follow up.

ii) PAM Central Zone Qualifying Round Golf Competition 2004

The Chairman informed the committee that the tournament has to be cancelled due to some technical problem.
ACTION: For Council's information. Secretariat to follow up.

iii) PAM Golf 2004

The organising committee has submitted their report on this event (Appendix 1) and the Committee has agreed to the proposal.
ACTION: For Council's information. Secretariat to follow up.

iv) PAM Family Weekend

The organising committee has submitted their report on this event (Appendix 2) and the Committee has agreed to the proposal in general. The Chairman has requested them to prepare a detail budget proposal by next meeting.

The Chairman has requested Secretariat to find a major sponsor for this event which will be held at Southern Chapter.
ACTION: For Council's information. Secretariat to follow up.

v) Building Industry Dinner 2004

The Building Industry Dinner 2004 will be held on 25 June 2004 (Friday).

The venue for the dinner is Berjaya Times Square Hotel & Convention Center, Kuala Lumpur.

The Organising Committee's Chairman, Ar Lim Pay Chye will confirm on the Guest-of-Honour for the dinner by April 2004.
ACTION: For Council's information. Secretariat to follow up.

vi) PAM Annual Dinner 2004

The PAM Annual Dinner 2004 will be held on 11 September 2004 (Saturday).

The venue for the dinner is Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur.
ACTION: For Council's information. Secretariat to follow up.

vii) Triangular Golf Tournament 2004

Letter of Invitation to IEM and ISM has been sent to them to have a meeting which to be held on Wednesday, 25 February 2004 at 4.30 pm at PAM Centre.

ISM has confirmed that Tuan Haji Saiful Anwar (Former Sec. General of ISM) will be their representative to attend the meeting.

The Chairman informed that this tournament would be called as Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's Challenge Trophy.

3. COMPETITION & AWARDS

i) PAM Architecture Award 2004

This Award will be presented during PAM Annual Dinner 2004 on 11 September 2004.

Letter of Appointment to Ar Datuk Chan Sau Lai has been sent to him and he had to decline to be the Convener. Second Letter of Appointment has been sent to Ar Ang Chee Cheong requested him to be the Convener and waiting for his reply.

The Chairman also informed that SK Victor will assisting the sub-committee for this awards.

4. YOUTH & SPORT MATTERS

i) Field Visit

Ar Sarizal has proposed the field visit for 2004 will be Hospital Sg. Buloh and the proposed date of the visit is Saturday 20 March 2004.

The Chairman asked the Secretariat to write letter to seek permission from the Architect in-charge of the above proposed date.
ACTION: For Council's information. Secretariat to follow up.

ii) Overseas Visit

The committee was informed to write letter to Mr Duangrit Bunnag, Vice President Foreign Affairs of The Association of Siamese Architects for his proposal on the buildings to be visited.
ACTION: For Council's information. Secretariat to follow up.

iii) Discourse Workshop

The Chairman has been informed that this event can be arranged with the Education Committee on the Student Workshop.
ACTION: For Council's information. Secretariat to follow up.

iv) Inter Firm Friendly Games

The committee have decided that Bowling will be the choice for the Inter Firm Friendly Game.
