The MALAYSIAN ARCHITECTS EXPORTERS CLUB (MAEC)
under the auspices of the PAM International Affairs Committee was
inaugurated on 9th Feb 2006 with the aim of promoting the export of
architectural services by members.
As we are all aware, trade in services is undergoing global metamorphosis that would
eventually traverse national boundaries completely. Much as we like
to remain protective, international pressures have been gaining
momentum for total liberalization of trade for us to remain relevant
and particularly as we are a signatory of GATS and member of the WTO. |
The 10 basic tasks of the MAEC are:
1 Promoting the export of architectural services: design,
project documentation and project management.
2 Listing of current exporters of architectural
services.
3 Listing of aspiring exporters of architectural
services.
4 Networking of exporters including with those in host
countries.
5 Identifying target markets.
6 Compiling guidelines for exporters.
7 Listing of specialisations.
8 Listing of resources, governmental, technical and
financial support.
9 Facilitating road shows and seminars ( including
exhibitions, brain storming, exchanging experiences and other fact
finding missions)
10 Travel log of architects. |
