1.0 INTERNATIONAL UNION OF ARCHITECTS (UIA)
The meeting was informed that Gaetan Siew and Louise Cox had interest to run for UIA President.

Dato' Hisham was requested to indicate his intention to run for Presidency as this is required to be endorsed by Council.

The next UIA Council Meeting to be held in May 2005.

2.0 APEC ARCHITECT PROJECT
The 4th Steering Committee meeting will be held on 21 to 23 September 2004 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
a. NCARB will be hosting the 4th Steering Committee Meeting.

b. The meeting was informed that the LAM International Affairs Committee would be the Monitoring Committee. Representative from CAEM, LAM and PAM would be part of the Monitoring Committee. Nomination for PAM Representative must be from PAM and it will be highlight to Board in the next Meeting.

c. LAM has confirmed their representatives to attend the next Steering Committee Meeting. PAM is required to confirm their representatives. The Committee proposed Ar Tan Pei Ing and Ar Boon Che Wee and this is subjected to endorsement by Council.

3.0 PROFESSIONAL SERVICES DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
Invitation to Register Interest to Export Services
The list of Architect Firms who provide export of services is attached.

The proposed date Courtesy visit by PSDC is on 31 July 2004. PSDC requested PAM members' details so that they could forward information on export of Professional services to the members.


4.0 ASEAN FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT ON SERVICES (AFAS)
a. ASEAN Council of Architects
Council had approved for the formation of ASEAN Council of Architects (ACA). The meeting agreed that PAM should initiate and invite Architect Organisation in the ASEAN region to form ACA. Dato' Hisham Albakri was of the view that ACA have to be clear whether it is to be a regulatory body or an institute. Each country must have their own body with the following criteria:
1. Institute to be recognised by ASEAN
2. Commercial reasons (in term of mobility)
3. An ASEAN country

SIA was briefed and in principle agreed PAM & SIA to drive together subjected to their Council's approval.

5.0 MATRADE

The names of official in charge of accessing NAPSEC website were Ar Boon Che Wee and Zarina Ibrahim.

6.0 DIALOGUE BETWEEN DATO' HISHAM ALBAKRI AND DEPUTY MINISTER OF WORKS

Dato' Hisham Albakri had a dialogue with Deputy Minister of Works to discuss on how to promote a package for all construction industry partners for export of services. They discussed on how to export services and agreed to do it as a package and that should be a leader to promote the package. Who should be leader would be discussed during the dialogue with PSDC.
