Designer’s professionalism is being abused by owners. They are being managed, directed and controlled (MDC). The industry has become reactive, has lost its professionalism, and is now price driven and abused. Malaysia is not alone. All professionals worldwide are facing the same problem. Dr. Dean has created a best value approach which restores the designer’s professionalism, increases the value of the designer’s expertise, and assists the designer to maintain control of the project. The transformation of the design professional is happening in the Netherlands. An environment has been put in place that gives the designers their professionalism, value, and control over the project and their destiny.
