PAM Annual Architecture Student Works Exhibition 2018 (PAASWE18)
Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM) is pleased to inform that PAM Education Committee will organise the 13th PAM Annual Architecture Student Works Exhibition 2018 from 17th – 21st October 2018. The Exhibition will be held at Ground Floor Highstreet, 1 Utama Shopping Centre, Bandar Utama, Selangor. The theme for this year is “VIA”.
BOOTH CONCEPT AND GUIDELINES
In collaboration with Thung Hing Group & Global Innovation & Entrepreneurship Foundation (GIEF), PAM has come out with the new guidelines of exhibition related with the materials provided as follows:
- Each university/institution required to exhibit selected students’ works according to the theme VIA that forms an exhibition tunnel. The tunnel dimension is compulsory to be at 1500W x 3000L x 2100H (not more or less) with maximum 300mm thk. Any shelving or protrusion should not exceed 150mm and should not be hazardous.
- The space is limited to 22 booths only. Each university/institution will be provided 1 booth space and consist of 10 student members.
- The content and arrangement of the items being displayed plays an important role in this year competition. Each university/institution is required to display and arrange their student’s works skill into the exhibition tunnel. It should be informative, easy to understand with an interesting narrative, aesthetically pleasing and based on the exhibition theme.
- The exhibition must be constructed using minimum 90% of the materials provided by the sponsors (should use both materials equally).

PAM Sketching Competition for PAASWE18
The old wisdom “one picture worth more than thousand words” has become the guiding principle in design communities. As early as beginning of history of Architecture, the drawing as communication tool has been accepted as a common denominator. Hence the ability to sketch and draw, be it for visual expressiveness or technical information, has become part of blood and sweat of an Architect.
The Sketching Competition for PAASWE18 will be held on Thursday, 18th October 2018 at Ground Floor Highstreet, 1 Utama Shopping Centre, Bandar Utama, Selangor. Time given is 2.5 hours (2.00 pm - 4.30 pm) and the theme is “Architecture…For A Better World”.
Students required to sketch a piece of architecture structure at A3 size drawing block within time frame of 2.5 hours at Ground Floor Highstreet, 1 Utama Shopping Centre. Your subject focus is not limited to the buildings, but the inclusive of surrounding build environment will be delighted by all. The best sketch will be judged by a Panel of Jury and the best illustration will be awarded with deserved prize.
Entries will be accepted as INDIVIDUAL only and students are required to bring their own stationery. The competition is open to all students currently studying architecture programme in Malaysia.
Prizes
1st Prize – RM300 and Certificate
2nd Prize – RM250 and Certificate
3rd Prize – RM200 and Certificate

Stick Structure Competition for PAASWE18
The Stick Structure Competition for PAASWE18 will be held on Friday, 19th October 2018 at Ground Floor Highstreet, 1 Utama Shopping Centre, Bandar Utama, Selangor. Time given is 2.5 hours (2.00 pm - 4.30 pm) and the theme is “Architecture…For A Better World”.
The competition is open to all students currently studying architecture programme in Malaysia. Entries will be accepted as INDIVIDUAL and GROUP (2 pax) only.
Students required to create and built an artwork using the materials given by the Organizer as below:
- Stick (Lidi Satay)
- Yarn (Benang)
- Glue (Gam)
The best structure will be judged by a Panel of Jury and the best illustration will be awarded with deserved prize.

1st Prize – RM300 and Certificate
2nd Prize – RM250 and Certificate
3rd Prize – RM200 and Certificate
