PAM Annual Architecture Student Works Exhibition 2017

PAM Education Committee will once again be organized the 12th PAM Annual Architecture Student Works Exhibition 2017 from 11th to 15th October 2017 at Ground Floor, Highstreet (Rainforest) 1Utama Shopping Centre, Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, Selangor. The theme for the exhibition this year is “STRUCTURA”. It will showcase the very best of architectural student works from all Malaysian public and private architecture schools. Each participating school is required to exhibit their students’ works according to the theme and to meet the required size and shape.

The objectives of this exhibition are as follows:

  • Public awareness on the process of educating an Architect,
  • Public information of Architecture as a respectable career,
  • Exposure of the Architecture schools in Malaysia and their products, and
  • Exposure of architecture students to the public.

This year exhibition theme is “STRUCTURA”. Below are the descriptions of the theme:

  • "Structura" is the Latin word "to build". It is the origin of the word "structure" in English which means "several parts that make up a building or an object". Structure also means the compositional relationship between parts or elements of something complex that in turn could be intangible.
  • “Structura” explore innovation in structural systems to create a seamless architecture through the medley between aesthetic and functionality of structures.
  • We are custom to order and structure in our daily life. Examples in the books that we read or how we enter a buildings or even how we enjoy food. There is a structured narrative in everything we do.
  • The aim of the exhibition is to display how each institution interpret “structure”.

Introduction of Gyproc Malaysia

Introduction of Thung Hing Sdn Bhd

In collaboration with Gyproc Malaysia and Thung Hing Sdn Bhd, PAM has come out with the new guidelines of exhibition related with the materials provided (Space area, Booth & Display Items)

  • Each university/institution required to exhibit selected students’ works according to the theme Structura that forms an “L” shape exhibition wall. The “L” shape wall dimension is compulsory to be at 1200W x 2400L x 2100H (not more or less) with maximum 300THK. The thickness of the wall can be less than 300THK and the walls may have openings or some cutouts parts within the given dimension. Any shelving or protrusion should not exceed 150mm and should not be hazardous.
  • The space is limited to 22 booths only. Each university/institution will be allocated 1 booth space and consist of 10 members (attached the registration form). Allocation of booth will be given at first come first basis referring to the exhibition layout on page one. Any late registration will not be entertained. 
  • The content and arrangement of the items being displayed plays an important role in this year competition. Each university/institution is required to display and arrange their student’s works skillfully onto the “L” shape exhibition booth. It should be informative, easy to understand with an interesting narrative, aesthetically pleasing and based on the exhibition theme.
  • The “L” shape exhibition wall must be constructed using minimum 70% the materials provided by the sponsors (should use both materials equally).
