Malaysian Youth Architecture Symposium 2017 (MAYAS 2017)

PAM is organizing the first ever event for young professionals, MALAYSIAN YOUTH ARCHITECTURE SYMPOSIUM 2017 (MAYAS 2017), which will be held as follows:

Venue: PAM Centre, 99L, Jalan Tandok, Bangsar, 59100 Kuala Lumpur

MAYAS 2017 is a 2 day event organised by PAM (the Malaysian Institute of Architects) through the Membership, Youth & Events Committee. The institute seeks to provide a platform to highlight, identify and activate emerging leaders and future trends, discuss current and strategic issues, and networking opportunities, as a platform for the Youth to Chart their progress in the Field of Architecture. This year’s MAYAS theme is “REAWAKENING-ACTIVATING THE YOUTH” which sought to formalise a platform of awareness, content-creation, networking, and better integration amongst the field and industry for the young professional.

MAYAS 2017 features 7 main events namely, a 2 day Forum featuring 10 speakers, a Symposium which features presentations from submissions of work, 4 Workshop Series for skill transfers, a Market showcasing the spectrum of services today, an Exhibition that looks at Art & Architecture, and a Night Festival.

2017 UIA-PHG International Student & Young Architect Competition

The International Union of Architects Public Health Group (UIA-PHG), the Global University Program in Healthcare Architecture (GUPHA) and the China Hospital Construction Conference (CHCC) are accepting submissions for their newly launched competition, “Smart, Green & Beyond: Healthcare Facility of the Future”, which seeks to raise awareness about sustainability in the design of healthcare facilities.

The competition regulations are in accordance with the UIA-UNESCO Guidelines for International Design Competitions, and the competition was organized in cooperation with the UIA International Competitions Commission and the UIA General Secretariat.

Objectives

The competition organizers are looking for innovative proposals that address the challenges facing the healthcare industry. Competitors will explore the following questions, eliciting creative responses to current issues in healthcare design, including dealing with limited resources, utilizing new technologies, meeting the needs of an increasing population and reducing cost.
